Must See Radiology is an academic project developed by a radiology resident for resident education. It is ideally for first year radiology residents prior to beginning independent call. Cases are also great for ER residents, Neurology residents and Surgery residents too.
Most radiology resources available today rely on a single static image. The key finding is often highlighted, circled and has an arrow pointing towards it. The pathology is easily identified and the learning point is made.
However, when starting independent call, residents don’t have the luxury of pathology that comes highlighted and circled. It may be hidden and sometimes overlooked due to the stresses of working independently in the emergency setting.
The main goal of the project is to create an interactive resource that simulates viewing of cross sectional studies at a PACS workstation, without giving away the answer too easily. This approach helps residents develop a search pattern and look at places that may have been neglected in their current search pattern.
The focus of cases will be based on the most critical radiology diagnoses that can affect patient care during the night of presentation. In future version of the app, multiple cases for each diagnosis, representing classic, subtle and severe findings will be included.
This version is the free version. No further cases will be added and some may be removed, as the paid version becomes available in the future.
